"Supremes" - американская женская соул-группа. Основана в Детройте в 1959. Первоначально группа, в состав которой входили Дайана Росс (Diana Ross, р. 26 марта 1944), Мэри Уилсон (Mary Wilson, р. 6 марта 1944) и Фло Баллард (Flo Ballard, р. 30 июня 1943), носила название "Primetters". Title было изменено на "Supremes" после того, как девушки подписали контракт с "Motown Records" в 1961. Продюсерами трио стали Эдди Холланд (Eddie Holland), Брайан Холланд (Brian Holland) и Лэмонт Дозье (Lamont Dozier). С их помощью "Supremes" стали одной из самых успешных женских групп в истории музыки. Первым хит-синглом стал "Where Did Our Love Go", вышедший в 1964, за ним последовали "Baby Love", "Stop! In The Name Of Love", "My World Is Empty Without You", "You Can't Hurry Love", "You Keep Me Hangin' On" и полдюжины других, в том числе хит "Reflections", выпущенный в 1967 уже от имени "Diana Ross & The Supremes". В том же году на место ушедшей Фло Баллард была взята новая вокалистка — Синди Бердсонг (Cindy Birdsong).
В октябре 1969 Дайана Росс, которая уже давно была на первом месте в группе, покинула ее, чтобы начать сольную карьеру; таким образом, в группе сталась лишь одна участница из первого состава — Мэри Уилсон. На место Росс пришла Джин Террелл (Jean Terrell). После этого состав группы постоянно менялся, но добиться больших успехов новым участницам так и не удалось. В начале 1980-х гг. история успеха группы была положена в основу бродвейского мюзикла "Dreamgirls". В 1988 "Supremes" были включены в Зал Славы рок-н-ролла.
